Hey guys!!
I went to this supernice city-state in my last holiday (one week ago! haha) and I really would like to share with you some of the highlights of this trip and also some of ~not-that-nice-features~ of Singapore!
So here we go!
Highlights:
1. For me, must-go place is Singapore is Marina Bay Sands (MBS) Hotel. It is a huge resort with everything that you can imagine inside, from casino, shopping mall, theater and even museum in there! The most incredible thing, however, is in the 57o. floor: the infinite-border swimming pool. That is just amazing! Even though it is a bit expensive going there (you can enter in the hotel if you are not host but you definitely cannot even see the swimming pool if you are not... ㅠㅠ ), it completely worth it! In there, there is the huge swimming pool from side to side of the rooftop and also some night club and bar.

2. Another really nice place to go is Sentosa Island. It is a whole island only for amusement! It is in the south of Singapore and quite easy to go by subway. After arriving in the station, you can use the boardwalk to there (for free, it only takes 15 min), take a cable car (it costs S$29 a round trip and it offers quite nice view of the island) or take a train (it is called Sentosa Express and costs S$4). In this Island you can find many options, such as Universal Studio Singapore, SEA Aquarium, Zip-line, Water Park, Indoor Skydiving/Vertical Wind Tunnel (the largest one in the world!), beaches, huge Merlion (where you can enter and, by its mouth, have a very nice view of the Sentosa) and many other options!
3. Other interesting places: Water Merlion (Singapore's symbol), Night Safari, DNA Bridge (This is really nice, inside it has some pairs of letters a and g, c and t, which represents the nitrogen basis in DNA. You can easily notice these letters at night, when it is lightened by the colors red and green), Gardens by the Bay (especially beautiful at night, when you can see some big structures that simulates threes with some colorful lights that constantly changes colors) and Singapore Flyer. Also, don't miss China Town (where you can find all the souvenirs you want and many traditional stuff) and Little India.
The "fine" city
One of the most interesting and funny things that I could notice about Singapore was the huge number of laws and fine that exists there about everything you can imagine! Prohibitions goes from chewing gums until no flushing or bringing durians in the public transportation! Want to know more about this crazy fines about everything? So take a look in this pictures below and in this website and try to understand a bit the reasons why they were created!
Curiosities!
Positive: Escalators in Singapore are really fast!! It's amazing- and maybe even dangerous for elderly or for not very careful tourists... Also, the city is so clean and modern! It combines the best of modern and classical world!
Negative: Singapore weather is really hot and humid... Even though there is air con everywhere, sometimes it gets really hard to sightseeing at day-time. Because of this climate, it prophecies a very good mood for coach-roaches to proliferate. That's why you can find some of them walking in the streets at night... (Funny fact: while going back to our hostel, after going to night zoo, my friends found a coach-roach inside the taxi we were riding!! And after seeing that, we still stayed until the end of the ride, about more 10 min with that wild companion in the same car~~).
